Clinical Services Training

Location:
Northern California

Objectives:

• Understand difference between RNP and Rehab
• Understand RNP scope of service
• RNA verbalize understanding of roles and responsibilities to RNP
• RNPC verbalize understanding of roles and responsibilities to RNP
• Review OBRA & Title 22 regulations, Quality Indications & Quality Measures related to RNP
• Verbalize/write admission and/or discharge criteria to the RNP
• Verbalize/write types of required restorative documentation skills
• Verbalize/write effective leadership strategies for the RNP

Prerequisites:

Current California Certified Nursing Assistant
Minimum of one year experience as a CNA in long term care
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Ability to function independently with indirect supervision
Able to participate in physical activities that may require bending, squatting, reaching twisting, repetitive grab, frequent pushing and pulling and frequent lifting up to 150 pounds with assistance
Training in gait belt use, safe transfers and body mechanics
Creative problem solver
OR
Licensed Nurse who oversees the Restorative Nurse Program

Program Format:
The format of this course is interactive. Your participation is expected throughout the lectures and demonstration

Attire:
Clothing should be appropriate for the workplace setting while still allowing the participant to practice the resident care exercises. Pants, flat shoes and loose fitting shirts are preferred.

Miscellaneous Information:
Two days of eight hours of in classroom time.
Graduation from this course requires demonstration of select clinical competencies as well as successful completion of a written post-test. Certification of course completion will be awarded when these standards are met.
