The Shining Star Program recognizes & rewards Country Villa employees who demonstrate a commitment to quality and our Core Values by going the extra mile. Anyone can participate! Employees, family, residents - we encourage everyone to let someone know that they are appreciated for something they have done. All employees are eligible to receive Stars, regardless of shift or full time or part time status.

Stars are given as a way to say "thank you" whenever someone shows extra effort, gives a caring touch in their everyday job, or provides excellent customer service. Examples of Shining Star events include:

• Giving extra attention to a resident or family
• Mentoring a new employee
• Providing excellent customer service
• Volunteering for an unpopular task
• Suggestions which may improve resident care, simplify a process, or reduce costs.
• Innovative resident care
• Demonstrating outstanding leadership practices
• Participating in Quality Improvement activities
• Excellent communication practices
• Helping another employee during busy times
